Children’s Hospital. Refrigerate specimen during collection, and send

If either gadolinium or
iodine-containing contrast media has been administered, the specimen should not
be collected for 48 hours. |

Laboratory Notes: |
|||||||
|
|
1. |
Mix 24H urine specimen well and
measure total volume collected. Record duration and total volume collected. |
|||||
|
|
2. |
Aliquot 2.0 mL (minimum 0.5 mL) from
collection (collected with no preservative, in a clean, plastic urine
container(s) with no metal cap(s) or glued insert(s).) into a plastic, 13-mL
urine tube or a clean, plastic aliquot container with no metal cap or glued
inserts. Record duration and total volume on aliquot tube. See special instruction section, “Urine Preservatives”
for multiple collections. |
