Specimen Required:

 

 

Submit an entire 24-hour urine collection in a urine container supplied by St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Refrigerate specimen during collection, and send specimen refrigerated.  Call 314-454-4161 to obtain container.  Please note collection start & stop times on container.

 

 

NOTE: 

Follow instructions on policies section, “Urine Collection.”

 

Laboratory Notes:

 

 

Mix the 24-hour urine collection specimen well and aliquot 1.0 mL into a conical tube.  Be sure to record 24-hour total volume on containers along with start and stop time of collection.  If specimen is bloody or turbid, spin and separate.

 

 

NOTE:

If not, specimen is NOT 24-hour collection, reorder as Tmd (or Rnd) Ur Sodium SLC
