Ova and Parasite Screen (Giardia/Cryptosporidium Antigen)

Specimens will be held in the laboratory for 7 days.  During this time, a complete ova and parasites examination can be requested by calling Laboratory Customer Service 314-454-4161.  The complete ova and parasites exam may be useful when there is persistent diarrhea, with a negative test for Giardia and Cryptosporidium, especially when the patient has recently traveled or resided outside the United States.
