MICROALBUMIN/CREATININE RANDOM URINE
Methodology: Immunoturbidimetric assay
	Test Performed At:
		St. Louis Children’s Hospital
	Specimen Required:
		Send minimum of 1.0 mL of urine from a random urine collected in a urine container supplied by St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
	Laboratory Notes:
		Mix urine (from a random collection) well and aliquot urine into a conical tube. If specimen is bloody or turbid, spin and separate.
	Reference Values:
		The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommends that an albumin/creatinine ratio be reported on all random urine specimens for microalbumin analysis.
		In accordance with ADA recommendations, the reference range for microalbumin analysis for a random urine collection is:
			<30 mg albumin/g creatinine for the Microalbumin to creatinine ratio
