	Specimen Required:
		Draw 5.0 – 10.0 mL (minimum 3.0 mL) of whole blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s).
		NOTE:		1.	Discontinue epinephrine and epinephrine-like drugs at least 1 week before obtaining the specimen.
				2.	The patient must refrain from using acetaminophen for 48 hours before the specimen is drawn.
				3.	The patient must refrain from using caffeine, medications, and tobacco and from drinking coffee, tea, or alcoholic beverages for at least 4 hours before the specimen is drawn.
	Laboratory Notes:
		Spin down and send 2.5 mL (1.1 mL minimum) of EDTA plasma frozen in plastic vial.
		NOTE:		If plasma catecholamine is also to be ordered with this collection, see #8532 “Catecholamine Fractionation, Plasma, Free.”
				Will also accept NaHeparin plasma or serum
