Specimen Required:

 

 

Submit an entire 24-hour urine collection in a metal free urine container supplied by St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Refrigerate specimen during collection, and send specimen refrigerated.  Call 314-454-4161 to obtain container.  Please note collection start & stop times on container.

 

 

NOTE:

COLLECTION DURATION IS REQUIRED ON COLLECTION CONTAINER FOR PROCESSING.

Follow instructions on “Urine Collection” in policies section.

 

Laboratory Notes:

 

 

Mix specimen well before pouring aliquot. Measure total volume collected, aliquot specimen into conical tube, spin and separate. Specimen should be acidified to pH <2 with concentrated HCL after collection.  Note collection duration and total volume collected on container.
