Draw 2.0 mL whole blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) 8 hours after last dose (trough specimen).  (GREEN-TOP [HEPARIN] TUBE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.)

The half time of elimination is 14-30 hours.

The volume of distribution is 0.45-1.13 L/kg.

Spin, separate and send 1.0 mL (0.5 mL minimum) serum.
