Specimen Required:
	Collect 1.0 mL (minimum 0.5 ml) of whole blood in a plain, red-top tube(s). SERUM GEL TUBE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Laboratory Notes:
	Spin, separate and send 0.5 mL (minimum 0.2 mL) of serum.
Reference Values:
	Peak concentration:	10-63 mcg/ml
	Trough concentration:	3-34 mcg/ml
	The minimal effective serum concentration for seizure control is 3 mcg/mL. Peak therapeutic serum concentrations of 10 mcg/mL to 63 mcg/mL occur 1 hour after dose. Trough therapeutic concentrations occurring just before the next dose range from 3 mcg/mL to 34 mcg/mL. Levetiracetam toxicities may be seen even when blood concentrations are in the therapeutic range.
