Collect 2.0 mL (minimum 0.8 mL) of whole blood in serum gel tube or a plain, red-top tube(s)

 

 

NOTE:

Paired specimens, both acute and convalescent sera (>21 days after on set of fever) are strongly recommended.

 

Laboratory Notes:

 

 

Spin, separate and send 0.5 mL (minimum 0.3 mL) of serum frozen in a screw-capped, round-bottom, plastic vial.
