Additional information:

 

Red Blood Cells (1 Unit = 300-400 ml of 55-65% Hct)

Dose:  10-15 ml/kg.  Expected Increment 2-3 g/dl rise in Hb depending on Hct

 

Platelet Pheresis/Single Donor Platelet (1 Unit = >3.0 x 1011 platelets in 200-300 ml of plasma)

Dose:  5-15 ml/kg.  Expected Increment 40,000 - 50,000 rise in platelet count.

 

Fresh Frozen Plasma (1 unit = 200-300 ml)

Dose:  10-15 ml/kg.  Expected Increment 15-20% rise in factor level.

 

Cryoprecipitate (1 unit = 10-20 ml)

Dose:  1-2 units/10 kg.  Expected Increment 60-100 mg/dL rise in fibrinogen.
