During periods when Virology is closed, emergency calls can be referred to the Infectious Disease Fellow at 424-6877 or the Barnes-Jewish Lab Medicine Resident by calling the Children's Hospital operator.
Cut-off hours for same-day culture inoculation:
Monday - Friday 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 1:30 p.m.
Sunday & holidays 10:00 a.m.
Cut-off hours for same-day respiratory virus FA stain results:
Monday - Friday 5:00 p.m.
Weekends & holidays 10:00 a.m.
During winter respiratory virus season, FA testing for RSV, Influenza A & B, Parainfluenza and Adenovirus is available after normal cut-off hours. Refer to yearly announced testing schedule for details.
