Specimen Required:

 

Collect 3.0 mL (minimum 2.0 mL) of whole blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) or serum gel tube. SEND TO LAB IMMEDIATELY.

 

 

NOTE:

Patient should not be on any corticosteroids, anti-inflammatory medications or painkillers for at least 48 hours prior to collection of specimen.

 

Laboratory Notes:

 

 

Spin and separate from cells within 30 minutes. Transfer minimum of 1.0 mL of serum ASAP into a plastic, screw-cap vial and freeze.
