Specimen Required:

 

 

Draw 3.0 mL (minimum 1.0 mL) of whole blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s).

 

 

NOTE:

Patient should not be on any corticosteroids, anti-inflammatory medications or painkillers for at least 48 hours prior to collection of specimen.

 

Laboratory Notes:

 

 

Spin down and send 0.5 mL (0.3 mL minimum) of EDTA plasma frozen in a plastic vial.
