Specimen Required:

 

 

Collect 4.0 mL (minimum 2.0 mL) whole blood (preferably with a 19-gauge needle to avoid hemolysis) in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s). (SERUM IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.) Send to lab immediately.

 

Laboratory Notes:

 

 

Spin down immediately, and send 2.0 mL (minimum 1.0 mL) of EDTA plasma refrigerated.
