Standard Cytogenetics

Cytogenetic Lab at Washington University Pathology

 

Specimen Required:

 

 

1.0 cm2 biopsy. Place biopsy in a screw-capped, sterile container with sterile tissue culture medium. DO NOT USE STERILE SALINE. (Tissue culture medium is supplied by St. Louis Children’s Hospital.) Do not handle with hands. Forward promptly at ambient temperature only.

 

 

NOTE:

1.

Please ensure the biopsy is tumor only - no normal skin or muscle attached.

 

 

 

2.

Please complete a “Cytogenetics Requisition Form" and forward it with the specimen. This form is supplied by St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
