Submit a 24-hour urine
collection in a urine container supplied by St. Louis Children’s Hospital. No
preservative. Refrigerate specimen
during collection, and send specimen refrigerated. Although a 24-hour specimen is preferred,
other timed and random specimens will be tested and should be ordered as
such. Please note collection start,
stop dates and times. |

Mix a 24-hour urine specimen
well and aliquot 30 mL into a 60 mL screw-cap plastic container and 1.0 mL
into a conical tube. Be sure to record
24-hour total volume; start & stop time of collection on aliquot
containers. If bloody or turbid
specimen, spin and separate. |
