Specimen Required:

 

 

Submit a 24-hour urine collection in a urine container supplied by St. Louis Children’s Hospital. No preservative.  Refrigerate specimen during collection, and send specimen refrigerated.  Although a 24-hour specimen is preferred, other timed and random specimens will be tested and should be ordered as such.  Please note collection start, stop dates and times.

Follow instructions “Urine Collection.”

 

Laboratory Notes:

 

 

Mix a 24-hour urine specimen well and aliquot 30 mL into a 60 mL screw-cap plastic container and 1.0 mL into a conical tube.  Be sure to record 24-hour total volume; start & stop time of collection on aliquot containers.  If bloody or turbid specimen, spin and separate.

 

 

NOTE:

If specimen is not 24 hour collection, reorder as Tmd (or Rnd) Ur Chloride SLC
