Specimen Required:

 

 

Collect 3.0 mL (minimum 1.0 mL) of whole blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) or a serum gel tube(s) from a fasting patient.

 

Laboratory Notes:

 

 

 Spin down, separate, and send 1.0 mL (minimum 0.5 mL) of serum frozen in a plastic vial.

 1.1-3.0 mg/dL
